In 1607 the land we call Charles City was home to three Algonquian speaking Native tribes – the Chickahominy, the Paspahegh and the Weyanock. Two of these groups have passed into history. Only the Chickahominies remain. We invite you on a journey to discover the first people who paddled our rivers, harvested our bounty and named our places – the Natives in our landscape.
